Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah once again supported the World #Quran Hour 1440H in the main location at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque in the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) campus in Gombak. This is the forth edition of the WQH, which is commemorated worldwide.
This year’s World #QuranHour on 25 Ramadan 1440H, 30 May 2019 with the theme Global Challenges’ Solutions is a campaign to establish a solidarity platform capable of unifying the global ummah under the banner of Al-Quran whilst capturing the spirit of the 10 blessed days in the end of Ramadan.
It is an effort to develop a commitment to self transformation towards excellence. World #QuranHour aspires to be the base of global unity for the ummah regardless of position, background, ideology, political affiliation, race ethnicity and religion; leaders or citizens. Al Quran will be the meeting point for the rise and unity of the ummah in establishing a World of Compassion.
Besides the event at IIUM, the programme was held at 2,100 other locations in Malaysia. Worldwide, there were some 79 locations from 27 oversease participation where Quranic verses were recited simultaneously.
